One Month Later

It has been exactly one month since Lilly joined our family. We are so blessed to have her be apart of our family. She is such a sweet, wonderful baby. I feel as if she has been in my life since the very beginning. Even though she is only one month old, I can barely remember my life without her, just as my life before Eliza is more of a dream.

Now I'm a mom. That's my identity. And my daughters are Eliza and Lilly. They always have been. My life completely revolves around their needs and wants. I often find myself missing my breakfast due to feeding Lilly and finally getting around to it hours later. Even then, I have to remind myself to sit down, eat, and take care of myself, if only it is because it will then allow me to take care of my daughters. I miss sleep in order to take care of a hungry infant or a toddler with a fever because she needs me. I would do anything for my girls.

I know you though. You're not reading my blog to hear me spew my thoughts. You are here to see pictures and watch videos...right? Well here are some pictures of our expanding family from the past month.

My dad had to teach class down in Parawon, Utah the week my mom was here helping me adjust to being a mom of two. He decided that since he had made almost half of the trip to California he might as well complete the trip and surprise us with visit for a few days. So, Friday morning while we were eating breakfast, we got a knock on the door. Who should it be.. but my dad, holding a carton of eggs. Apparently, he was hungry. He sure got us good.

And just because it wouldn't be my blog without a video, here is a cute clip of how excited Eliza is to be a big sister. It also shows how she says "Lillian," which is pretty, stinkin' cute if you ask me.

Girls' Room

We have made an accomplishment. We have lived in one place for the longest time without moving while being married. It's true. Ryan and I have been married for just over 4 years and during that time we have moved 8 times. It seemed like we couldn't live in one place for more than 8 or 9 months without moving due to summer jobs or internships. So, naturally we feel like our home here in California is more of a home than any other place we have lived. Not to say we haven't loved where we have lived, because we have.
Another reason we feel like this is more of a home to us than any other apartment is because I have finally finished putting together the girls’ room.  Here are a few pictures.

The coolest pinwheel lattice ever that my
good friend made me for my baby shower.

Major kudos go to my mom for painting the bed and dressers. Oh...AND the mirror and shelf. What would I do without her? I would have white furniture and a really gross looking bed. I absolutely love the colors that we chose and love how the room feels now that it is officially put together. Thanks, Mom, for all of your help and long hours of work.

Christmas Present

We had a wonderful Christmas. I will shortly write with all our adventures. However, we are back to real life and getting back into a regular routine. We do have some new toys to add to our daily life, one being a zoo-zoo pet. Eliza loves this little animal which will move and turn on its own. She knows how to turn it on and does so frequently. Tonight she took to turning it on then sitting in front of it so it would run into her. It was a lot of fun to watch her be so excited. Here is a glimpse for you.

Known Fact

Did you know that the fastest and most efficient form of advertising is by word of mouth? It's true. At least I heard that at one point in time and I think it's true, therefore, it is.

Regardless, I just saw this on another friend’s blog and thought it looked really good. Who isn't always trying to figure out how to spend less on groceries? This book is definitely going on my to-read list. If you are interested in maybe being one of the first 250 people to win a copy click on the link below.

What Does a Car Say?

Some may wonder why I post so many videos. Here are three reasons why. 1) My mom loves it when I post videos so she can see how Eliza is growing. 2) It is a good way to record what is going on in our lives. So it is kind of like a journal entry. And 3) sometimes she is just too cute to capture with a picture so I have more videos than I do pictures.

And so, here is another video from today.

This came about when I heard some funny noises in the bathroom. I don't normally have the door open to the bathroom, simply because there are too many things that Eliza can get into that I don't want her to. So when I heard funny noises I became a little concerned. I peeked in and I found her driving the only car she has all over every surface while making "car" noises. I have no idea where she got this from, but it was so cute, I couldn't pass it up.

Shoots and Ladders

Eliza loves the park! We are so blessed to have a park just behind our apartment. It is a great place to meet new people and for Eliza to socialize with other kids. I was very pleased the other day when she shared her ball with an older girl and they started to play pass back and forth. It was so sweet to watch the two girls playing together.
One thing she absolutely loves is the slide. She is still not confident to go down on her bottom since she hit her head trying that one too many times. But that doesn't stop her from going down anyway.
